News from the 2002/2003 academic year posted August 18, 2003
- Lab alum. Manuel Leal accepted a position as a faculty member in the Department of Biology at Vanderbilt University. Congratulations Manuel!
- Jason Knouft was awarded a Visiting Scholar Fellowship at the Museum of Vertebrate Zoology at UC Berkeley and this summer he caught his first lizard!
- Rich Glor, Jason Kolbe, and Luke Harmon were awarded National Science Foundation Doctoral Dissertation Improvement Grants to support their thesis work (Rich actually got his last year, but forgot to put it in the news then!).
- Jason Kolbe was awarded a three year Environmental Protection Agency STAR (Science To Acheive Results) Fellowship.
- Michele Johnson got an NSF pre-doctoral fellowship, but since she still hasn't put up a web page you can't read about all the interesting stuff she's doing!
News from the 2001/02 academic year posted April 27, 2002
- Jim Schulte successfully defended his Ph.D. dissertation and has moved on to a post-doc with Kevin de Queiroz at the National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C.
- Jane Melville has accepted a position as curator of herpetology at the Museum in Melbourne Australia. Fortunately though, we'll still be seeing Jane regularly over the next few years as she finishes her post-doctoral fellowship.
- Michele Johnson was accepted into the OTS tropical ecology field course for the summer of 2002, congrats!
- Luke Harmon was awarded an NSF pre-doctoral fellowship. Way to go Luke!
- Lab PI Jonathan Losos has been named editor of the American Naturalist and will begin his tenure in July of 2002.
News from the 2000/01 academic year posted April 5, 2001
- Early last fall, Jane Melville was awarded a post-doctoral fellowship and research grant from the Australian Research Council (ARC) which she will use to expand her studies of desert lizard communities. She'll be splitting time between St. Louis and the University of Sydney over the next few years.- Earlier this year, lab alum Duncan Irschick accepted a position as assistant professor in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Tulane University.
- This spring, Marguerite Butler accepted a position as assistant professor in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Tennessee Knoxville.
- Also this spring, Jim Schulte was awarded both a Smithsonian post-doc and NSF post-doc to work with Kevin de Queiroz at the National Museum of Natural History. He'll be headed off to DC after finishing his PhD next semester.
