Travel to Brno
By air
Ryanair www.ryanair.com has daily service from London (Stansted)
arriving 17.20, which should be just in time! Otherwise you will need to
fly to either Prague or Vienna, and then take a train or bus (see below).
By train
There is a direct railway link between Vienna and Prague via Brno. From
Prague, the train takes about three hours (EC express trains
are quicker but more expensive). From Vienna, the journey time is under 2
hours.
Brno station is located fairly centrally and hotels are accessible by cab
(or tram). The price of a cab from the main railway station should be
about 100 CZK (the distance to Mendel Square is about 2.5 km). It is good
to know this - the taxi drives are somtimes a little creative.
By bus
Brno is well served by long distance buses. From Prague, buses to Brno
run frequently and the journey takes under three hours. Czech Airlines
also run minibuses directly from the Prague airport to Brno. There are
four services each weekday, and two on Saturdays and Sundays.
There are twice-daily buses from Vienna, with a journey time of about two
and a half hours.
