Moss 2005 will be held at the Mendel Center, Brno, Czech Republic, beginning on Saturday July 23 and ending on Tuesday July 26 after lunch (although there will be an optional excursion on Tuesday afternoon).
The Mendel Center is located in the Abbey in which Gregor Mendel carried out the pioneering experiments which laid the foundation to the science of genetics. The Mendel Museum is situated in the Abbey and conference participants will be able to visit the museum during the conference.
The format of the meeting will follow that of previous Moss meetings with plenty of time for informal discussions as well as the opportunity to present talks or posters.
The Mendel Center will provide a hotel booking service.
The fee for full delegates is 220 Euro, this fee includes conference documentation, the welcoming reception on Saturday, lunch and dinner on Sunday, lunch, a visit to the Brno Brewery and dinner on Monday, and lunch on Tuesday.
The fee for Accompanying Persons is 104 Euro, this fee includes the welcoming reception Saturday, a sightseeing excursion and dinner on Sunday, a visit to Brno Brewery and dinner on Monday.
The optional excursion on Tuesday afternoon is to Austerlitz, site of the famous battle in 1805 between the French army, on the one hand, and the Russian and Austrian armies on the other. After visiting the battleground, we shall visit Slavkov Castle, and the excursion will finish with dinner at the Cerc Wine Cellar. The cost of the excursion is 52 Euro (includes dinner).
