Professor Sarah Elgin- Drosophila Epigenetics
The Elgin lab has an immediately available NIH-funded position open for a postdoctoral
research associate. The position involves a half-time commitment to the modENCODE
project, and a half-time commitment to research on epigenetic inheritance in Drosophila
melanogaster. The modENCODE project, a collaboration with the labs of G Karpen, M
Kuroda, V Pirrotta and P Park, involves ChIP experiments to map the distribution of
various chromosomal proteins. Other research time will be devoted to investigations of
heterochromatin formation. Salary commensurate with experience using the NIH
postdoctoral scale. Experience with basic molecular biology techniques required;
experience with Drosophila is helpful but not required. Candidates should send a
curriculum vitae including a statement of long-term goals and the names and contact
information for two references to Sarah C R Elgin
