Neva Laurie-Berry
(Graduate Student, PhD June 2008)

Neva is interested in understanding changes in the plant host that occur during P. syringae infection that allow the pathogen to grow and cause disease. She studied this by investigating aspects of the plant jasmonate signaling pathway affected by the phytotoxin coronatine, a key P. syringae virulence factor. She characterized two new Arabidopsis coronatine-hypersensitive mutants that may define negative regulators within this pathway.
