Reporter gene technologies We use transgenic mice and rats that carry the gene for either green fluorescent protein (in collaboration with Dr. Doug McMahon) or luciferase (in collaboration with Dr. Hajime Tei, University of Tokyo) under the control of a circadian promoter. This allows us to monitor gene activity in real time.
