Electrophysiological Techniques

Multielectrode recording We record from individual neurons for weeks using planar arrays of 64 electrodes. Currently we use arrays developed by Guenter Gross and by Multichannel Systems.

Development of a CMOS multielectrode array In collaboration with Drs. Gene Block, Travis Blalock, Michael Reed and Mircea Stan at the University of Virginia, we are working on the development of a novel planar electrode array that has embedded circuitry to substantially enhance the performance and versatility of multielectrode techniques.
