Vaccine Development Research at Washington University

An expanding vaccine development research program is focused on the design, construction and evaluation of recombinant attenuated Salmonella antigen and DNA vaccine delivery vaccines to induce mucosal, systemic and/or cellular immune responses as appropriate, to confer protection to animals and humans to a diversity of bacterial, viral and parasite pathogens. We have, at present, five to six positions for postdoctoral investigators with a strong motivation to reducing global morbidity and mortality due to human infectious diseases and/or in preventing animal diseases and ensuring safety of animal food products. Young scientists who possess exceptional talents as innovative, self-reliant research investigators and have demonstrated evidence of research productivity are encouraged to apply. Individuals with a diversity of relevant backgrounds in microbiology, viral and/or microbial pathogenesis, molecular biology, immunology, and animal science and with computer skills are desired. Salary commensurate with years of experience.
